Poopy Eggs

Recently our eggs are dirty with poop when that has rarely been a problem. Also eggs are sometimes laid outside the nesting box. Could it be due to new chicks have started and older chickens disturbed by that?

Are there any hens sleeping in the nest boxes? Do you have hens with dirty bottoms?

Occasionally a hen will poop when laying an egg. When an egg is laid it is supposed to block off the intestines, but it doesn't always work correctly, and you end up with poop on the egg.
