CountryForever - a rolling magnet! After my fiasco, I so need one of those. The vet did not say where the screw was and didn't know. He used one of those magnet things to try to retrieve it without surgery to keep the costs affordable but no go. It was so heartbreaking. I've certainly learned my lesson. I honestly had no clue that chickens ate things like screws and staples.

Don't be too hard on yourself. We've all learned our lessons the hard way at one time or another.
Raising chickens is one of those things that is a very long learning process.
I'm sure you gave your chicken a good life. Unfortunately, bad things happen even when we're trying to do a good job.
I believe you can get those rolling magnets at some of the big box hardware stores. They're really good. We use it on our gravel driveway sometimes too. They come in really handy.

That is normal Cecal Poo and it is smelly. Happens every so many hours. Nothing to worry about.

For what it's worth, I took the poop into the vet for a fecal test anyway. I'm paranoid - what can I say! Anyway, turns out she is "loaded with worms" and they're giving me some meds for her in the morning. She'll be fine, right?
