Hey everyone a few of my three day old chicks have waste stuck in their hair on their body. Should i cut it out or what do i do?

I am a newbie too, but I was told to get a little bowl of warm water and dip her butt where the poop is for a few seconds to soften it up and then u should be able to gently pull it out without pulling the feathers out. Make sure u dry her off really good b4 u put her back in with the others or they might peck at it.

Hopefully i'm giving good advice. Maybe someone else with more experience will reply also.

The other day one of our chicks had some on her wing and her sisters were trying to "help" her get it off and it was NOT going to turn out well, so I picked her up and used a baby wipe to clean her off. It took a while because I was being super gentle, but when I put her back in, she fluffed up and they all went back to their normal chicky selves.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Two small problems 1. its not on her butt. 2. I have no baby wipes. Yall dont laugh I am a single guy with no experience with yougins so wiping butts ect. is all new to me ha ha !

got the job done! I have a whole new appreciation for all you females out there thanks for doing what doing what you do as mothers. However i want nothing to do with that part.

ANYway, (she says, wiping tears from her eyes) First of all: GOOD on ya, Dude! Secondly, mine calmed down a lot when I'd just hold a warm wet paper towel on the caked area for a minute before gently wiping the poo away. It might take several swipes, but hey, you're already there so why not give it your best?!

And make sure they're back in a really warm spot and out of any drafts when you're done...

Good luck, Man!
