I have a mixed flock ranging in age from 6mo to 6yrs old, and recently all of my birds seem to have their dropping sticking to their feathers right around their opening.
I’ve seen this on a few birds randomly, but it seemed to clear up after a short time. Again, this has been a recent occurrence for the majority of the flock.
I think I read that this was a specific issue before, but I can’t find anything on it now.
All of my birds are very healthy otherwise, they free range in my fenced pasture, and nothing has changed in their diet to my knowledge. I use diatomaceous earth in their grain regularly and give a natural dewormer once in a while when they look dull.
Any advice??

You might want to collect some droppings in a freezer bag, mix them and take them in to a local vet for a fecal test to look for woms, and what kinds. What do you feed your chickens? Can you look them over on their lower abdomens for any lice, lice eggs, or mites? The pressence of lice eggs will attract droppings. Look for any raw or red irritated skin around vents. Having runny droppings those will tend to stick on feathers. DE does not treat or prevent worms. Natural wormers are seldom effective against worms. Valbazen cattle/sheep wormer and SafeGuard Liquid Goat wormer are very safe and effective wormers to use in chickens.
