Poop stuck on feathers below vent, not laying eggs. 18 month old hen. Acting normal otherwise. Could there be an egg stuck? Vent looks swollen.

I would also give her a Calcium Citrate Tablet to give her a calcium boost just in case there's an egg stuck.

I wasn’t worried at first because I thought maybe the molting process was starting and I know that can stop production. We have 2 hens, so I’m never sure who’s laying and who’s not. When I saw the trail of poop in her feathers, I was concerned that maybe this was something else.

Is she pooping fine?

If there's no egg, she could be constipated.
