Poop stuck to butt, how can I fix this?

I just rescued a chick from a under fed and under watered flock. It has poop stuck to it's butt so I got a wet cloth and tried to rub it off and it started leaking a clear liquid. It's butt seems a bit swollen as well. I keep rewiping it's butt because it keeps getting stuck. Will the little guy be okay?

I just run warm water on it to soften it up (not me....the chick)

That has worked for me, but I've only encountered it once.

Clean it with warm water, dry it as best you can.
If needed, you can trim some of the down off.
I put a little vasaline or something simalar on the butt.
Mix some molassas (black strap) in its water. tsp per quart
give it some polyvisol no iron baby vitamins

Most important, keep it warm and humidy

Is it normal for it to scab up? His bum has naked with no down and it seems a bit swollen still.
