My hen had a huge piece of dry crusty poop stuck to her butt today, she was patient enough to let me cut that off, but there is still crusty bits of poop on the little feathers surrounding her vent. I haven't seen her poop once after that. Is this a problem? Is something wrong with her?

I had an EE that had a hard ball of poop stuck to her butt feathers. It was too close to the skin to cut safely, and a warm cloth just wasn't enough, so I soaked her in warm water and worked at that ball of poo with a cloth for quite a while until it came off. Luckily she hasn't had that problem again.

If you are convinced that your hen is not pooping currently, that could be a problem. Are you able to see all of her vent, and is it clear of blockage?

If her vent is even partially blocked I would suggest cleaning the rest of that poop off as soon as possible.

Her vent didn't have anything blocking it. I cut out the huge poop wad with safety scissors. She had the problem again, but I repeated the same safety scissors procedure. She hasn't had it since.
