Poop tray under the roosts with deep litter?

I don't use a poop board...I find it easier to do 2 or 3 passes with the shovel under the roost and toss it right in the compost pile. The outside run has a roost about 6 feet long in a recycled wall unit (8 ft tall) with a cupboard that goes up around 3 feet which creates a shelf a few feet under the roost. I just use a set of tongs to pick through the shaving and toss that right in the compost as well. Either way you go, poop patrol is still work.

Once again, JackE you're doing what I'm planning on doing. My question this time is turning the deep litter (which I'm planning on using as compost) under the roosts. Tossing scratch to have the hens mix things up in the run or around the hen house is all good, but what about under the roosts? I was picturing going in once or twice a week and giving a toss under there, but my current coop/house plans don't leave a good access point to get behind the roosts. I can change the plan, of course, but haven't figured out the more effective way.
