Poop

I just may have never noticed before but this AM one of my hens pooped with looked like a normal poop along with about a table spoon of clear liquid that kind of appeared the consistancy of raw egg white.

Do I have anything to worry about? What would cause this? They are all eating , drinking and acting normal

Been there done that.

It looks as I described. Like a normal every day poop that came out with egg white looking material. Maybe she just over did it on the water?

Last night I went to bed EARLY. Laura left the waterer in the coop and the back flood lights on. Is it possible she was just a little pig and drank too much last night

I think it's normal, have you given them anymore treats? Probably just extra water in their diet. If it's been warmer that cold explain it.

They got some plain greek yogart which they were all well into early this am. Its hasnt been warm here but with all the massive rain and flooding we had them cooped up for several days. I was thinking I was being paranoid but I wanted to catch something early incase it was a problem. This is our 1st real renced run with a coop. Before we just had free roaming barn chickens that roosted in an old camper.

Hard to tell by just a description, but I've seen something that sounds similar when one of our hens had fowl pox. The vet said it was just a "stress" poo, something he sees a lot of whenever birds come into the vet.

It doesn't necessarily mean anything, but watch that bird carefully to see if she passes more droppings like this. She might be coming down with an illness or perhaps she's being stressed by pecking order issues.

My guess would be a little stress from the rain/flooding. I'm in RI (fortunately not in one of the areas that completely flooded out) and my girls had to stay in too. Their run was wet and they were a little less than happy about the constant rain and wet

. I've seen a couple of "wet" poops too. I'd just keep an eye on her to make sure it's nothing more serious. But I'll bet the sunshine that's coming out now will help considerably.

I felt bad for them this mornin so while I was out and about I stopped and got them a box of crickets. McNugget gobbled up 10 herself!
