I have 14 broilers, 6 of them my children will auction off for 4-h, the others we will process... they are in a 10x12' pen in our garage... they are pooping machines... we clean the coop about 2tes a week but it seems endless to keep it clean... any suggestions? We use pine chip our garage is huge so there is no space issues well ventilated with windows and keeping the garage door open... but all these guys do it eat and poop literally... we have layers which we are used to, these guys are totally different...

Well, you eat unnatural quantities of feed for your age, grow very fast for your age, you're gonna poop a lot.

Then again, pooping a lot is subjective. Maybe outside would have been a better choice than in your garage?

we have thought about that, they are still a little young as we live out in the country and we have a lot of predators. But thanks!

What about makin a chicken tractor for them? That is what we did and they get moved once a day. So no brooder to clean out. Plus my uard gets fertilized and aerated. :). We live in the country and have predators also... but we put a solar powered hot wire around it and didn't lose any to preds.

@sfgwife thats a great idea! Is your tractor just wire wheels and wood, anything special besides the hot wire fence?
