Keep trying. You need to get it off, it is called Pasty Butt. It will kill the chick because it traps waste inside the body. Nothing can get out till you get it off. Try a warm rag and just keep at it till it is off. The chick may not like it, but it is better than losing her.

Good Luck.

Try holding his tushie under warm running water. Some massaging with your fingers or a rag and eventually it will come off. Poor honey.

You can also VERY CAREFULY & GENTLY cut or pick it off. You can use manicure scissors to cut away the fluff where the poo is stuck. Or very gently pull at the dried poop and pull it off. Be VERY CAREFUL to not yank to hard, VERY VERY CAREFUL not to cut the protruding lips of the vent. But sometimes it's better to make the chick uncomfortable for a few seconds picking it off like this than to bother it for minutes on end by holding it under running water.

Thanks so much for all the helpful advice. She now has a poop free bottom and I'll be keeping a closer watch on them all for this now. Thx again!
