Disecky
Chirping
This is my first flock of chickens and am trying to learn.
I have a couple hens with some dirty butts.
I first noticed it on one of my Bantams and then a Lavender Orpington.
Bantam did not seem too bad, I thought it might be vent Gleet, I brought her inside, bath, saline wound wash around cloaca, swabbed with Betadine. The keep her inside and gave her ACV. Spot cleaned butt 2nd day, still inside. I don't have a before picture but I do have one from yesterday, not sure what the white is.
I called my local vet that treats chickens, she said to worm everyone with a broad spectrum dewormer. That tractor supply would show me which one, I called both tractor supplies here and got conflicting info. One said don't worm, the other said to use strike III.
I am not sure my birds need to be wormed at all.
Could this just be poopy butts from winter wet weather?
My other question is, can birds go in and out of the winter cold?
Bring them in the warm basement for a couple days than put them back out in teens and freezing temps?
Here is my basic info
