Hello. 3 of our girls have poopy butts. Pictures attached. Recently wormed. All over one year. I clean hen house daily of poo, they do free range, fed layer pellets and local birdseed, Grubblies and meal worms. I’m looking for suggestions on things to try to cure/help them. TIA!

More of my chickens look like they are getting poopy butt. What could be spreading? Totally new to this. They get apple cider vinegar and probiotic in their water. Along with oregano garlic powder and onion powder on the crushed eggshells I bake.

Poopy butts can be common if they drink a lot of water, and sometimes it can be positional. Are their crops emptying overnight? I would stop the garlic powder. Cannyou call and ask your vet if they will let you bring in some collected droppings for a fecal float to look for worms and coccidiosis?

how would one know if they empty their crops at night? I’m asking because while some of our girls get mildly poopy butts sometimes, one has a bad case and I noticed today that it seemed extreme and I got a little worried. She was alone a few times today as well and our tiny flock of 7 generally hang together.
Also, she slept in a nest box for a few nights (on the roost tonight.)
So, tomorrow I think I will scoop her up, clean her butt and see if it’s vent gleet but not sure what to do if it is.
I have been giving them raisins for treats; maybe a few too many? They LOVE them. And the others’ bums seem to be clean.
Can I use triple antibiotic cream on a chicken?
thanks!
