Poopy chick butt has been happening for days!!!

I have 2 silkies born Saturday the 16th. They both are fine besides the fact that they keep having pasty butt. I clean it of everyday but it never goes away. It's just the silkies. Everyday I clean it of it just seems to get worse. How can I help them?

Never had this problem with silkies. I've had it happen with store bought chicks of other breeds, normally 1-2.

Try lowering the temperature a bit. Too much heat supposedly can contribute to pasty butt.

For future reference- can I put something like Aquaphor or Vaseline on the butts? I remember reading oil based is not good... but it kind makes a little sense for booties?
