Poor baby ducks ;(

My wife use to work at TSC, it's funny she's the best thing I've ever got from them!!! :) but she use to take care of the chicks and ducks when they got the oh and how she would fuss at the other employes for not taking care of the babies, the problem with her old store was it was all college kids who were there and didn't care!! All they wanted was a paycheck. But we don't hesitate to say something if we see it. Those babies have done nothing to earn that kind of treatment and I don't hesitate to let any store know when I see mistreatment of an animal

I got 2 Mallards from our local TSC, they looked fine. it was the Pekins that were being neglected. They had used the pine pellets for bedding, which I soon found out do not work well for ducks...anyway they were all huddled together in a stinky filthy mess of their own filth and dirty water. We got 4..and I understand why it would be so hard to keep a brooder with 40 or so Pekins clean, but at least try...don't just say oh well and walk off. One of my friends was appalled by the conditions some of the chicks were in...they were too cramped and pecking each other pretty badly. I got a leghorn that had a big pecked spot on one of it's wings. It's almost healed now though and everyone is doing great. TSC employees aren't really schooled on what to do with and for the babies. Which is terrible. I mean jeez, why not put one person in charge of brooder care for that time of year? Heck, I would do it cheap.

Me too!

Thank you for standing up for those whose who can't speak for themselves! Hopefully something gets changed!

I recently went into a TSC and as I was checking out two younger boys were buying a duck. Just one duck. No food, no food container, nothing but the one duck. As I was leaving I noticed that they had ridden their bikes there and were headed toward the side of the building with the duck and took it out of its box. I mean they very well could have had intentions of taking care of it, but just how they were acting when they bought it and the fact that they only bought one duck and no other supplies makes me think that they were just going to play around with it and dump it when they were done :( There should be a minimum age requirement in order to buy chicks or ducklings

I'm surprised they were allowed to only buy one duckling. My TSC has had a 2 duck minimum for years now.
