In the meantime, can you run a garden hose sprinkler next to the coop, so that some mist will come in and cool them off. All my birds are free range, so they have lots of shade --- but they love it when the sprinkling system comes on! They won't go in the water, but they sure do stand by the side with their wings stretched out. Extra fun, freeze some jello and give it to them.

i checked out your thread!! the misting is such a great idear, ill have to have my husband work on setting it up, probably over the weekend, i have 2 small kids,,,, maybe i can get them involved too!! its so hot here lately, i maybe in the coop with the chickens cooling off!!! ha lol

I have a veggie name gome in once a week now with produce he could not sale along with manure man who bring's me produce too.....(wow it's like having an afair and hoping that both men don't find out about each other) well once it come in i go through what i need for my 3 pig's and then take the almost good stuff friut and tomatates and through them in to my deep freezer and every time it get's hot i take a bag out for them to cool of with......i tried the water bottle trick but my turkey gave me this "your nuts" look and all the chickens did was push it out the way.
