This morning I got to play with my new goat for the first time and I made the comment to my SO that there is something wrong with us. Every single one of our animals, new goat included, are either black & white (Jake, Kitty, the goat) or plain white (Charlie Girl). Heck even the 'rented' cows are black and white! My question was...why can't we have any COLORED animals??? His response? We're too poor for colored ones! 
Shoulda kept my big mouth shut. I mentioned last week that he had picked up a german shepherd female running loose in town after the dog pound was closed and she's been housed at the mayor's house while they tried to find her owner. Well, the owner hasn't shown up and there is a good chance we will finally have a COLORED animal on Friday. I'm encouraging the SO to go ahead and bring her home, since I could tell by the way he talked about her that he was already smitten and she reminded him of his beloved shepherd that passed away years ago. He's "thinking" on it during her mandatory holding period.
Just thought I'd share what it's like to be so poor.
With all the love running around in our yard I think I'll always want to be this "poor".
