There is this guy and his ex-wife who sell mixed heavies and guineas every spring and summer for extra $$$. They have large bators and take orders months in advance - talk about counting your eggs b4 the hatch! They took an order from me for 10 guineas in July and I was told 3 weeks to a month. Well its been just over a month, so I called and got "Oh...Uh...they havent been hatching for us this year so we havent been able to fill any orders." --sad but understandable. But do ya think they could have maybe CALLED? I was refered to them by a mutual friend, and they hadnt even called that friend to let them know they wouldnt be filling their order either. Grrrrrr so now its getting late in the year and I have to wait till next year. At least I have my own bator now so I can just order eggs.

If you're going to order eggs, do it quickly. If I'm understanding correctly, guineas stop laying in September.

I just got 48 guinea eggs and it looks like 46 are fertile! YAY!

Good luck!

There is no shortage of Guinea eggs. Right now there are 26 listings for Guinea eggs on eBay. I bought a dozen eggs there and 9 of them are developing and should hatch in a couple of weeks.

Guineas are the one thing we never have a problem hatching!
They even do well in an LG Still Air incubator as long as its in a temp controlled environment.

under a broody hen i have a 100% hatch rate in my first batch

one didnt make it after hatching tho.

i had 17/18 hatch from my broody hen 4 weeks ago. all have made it and im tickled. i had to help one hatch, but he is fine.
