Poor Hermione...her egg is stuck

One option is to try to encourage her to go broody on some eggs (they'd be duds, since we have no rooster and goodness knows we don't need any more chickens right now), and that would stop her from laying for almost a month. But Hermione is down at the bottom of the pecking order, so the only way she'd get a chance to go broody is if we separated her out from the rest of the flock. She won't like that.

I'm trying not to worry already about what else might happen; just glad we have an $80 egg this morning.
