Poor Mary has flight feather issues

I'll try to do a video of them as I only have a 12.9"iPad at mo which has a decent camera and it's a big old beast to drag about. In particular the ducks would give me grief if I tried to hold the ipad and a duck together. Wish me luck!

It worked this time !!

They are so pretty.

It looks like you have 2 with feathers missing on their wings. Are you noticing any feathers laying around inside the house on the ground.

Only lil feathers, the fluffy ones are strewn about the lawn. So mary's are orange and probably dying off, Alice's are gone from about 2" down from the tip. I picked Alice up and checked them. There is so rawness or anything like that. I'm wondering is this is a natural thing with Aylesburys as they dont fly etc

I don't know they may be starting molt usually mine {Muscovy's} lose their whole flight feather and then begin growing them back. They don't chew on each other do they?

Have you looked them over for mites I just read they are subject to red mites seems it would be easy to see them on a white duck. Mites are very tiny about the size of blk pepper

No they don't chew on each other at all. I gave Alice a full inspection last night. No sign of mites of any kind. I think its likely that as your ducks moult maybe thats all thats happening with my girls. It is coinciding with them stopping laying - which I have been anticipating.

If it was a dietary issue then Sid would be experiencing the same issues - albeit he eats far less. I've give my lady farmer a call today. I hate bothering her but she is a massive expert on Aylesburys and I assumed this feather loss had a simple easy answer.
