she had the mess beat out of her by my moms duck. I took her in about a week ago and put her with my Grace who also has a spot from the rooster getting her. Everybody picked on her so I but her in the dog kennel until her feathers grow back. Poor NN she is so scared of Grace she wont come off the roost to eat. But they roost together at night. I have been putting vit e oil on her until I can get some rooster booster. but i was wondering could I put some Neosporin on her?

That stupid duck would not even let her eat she was so thin when I got her. I have been giving her so many treats

bless her heart she is just so raw!!! I sit in the (coop) dog kennel and talk to her and she tells me all about life!

Can you guys think of anything to help her feathers grow back? I have some Tree tea oil but I think it is too strong, I guess I could mix it with some water.

Yes, if you have the Neosporin without pain killer.

I would not put Tea Tree oil on open wounds.

Could I put tea tree oil on a non open wound say where the rooster got grace? also why not the neosporian with pain relief...... just wondering?

I think the Neosporin will be the best thing for open wounds.

You don't want the one with pain killer in it because the pain killer ingredient is toxic to chickens. I believe this is true for any ingredient that ends in "caine". Do not give to chickens. While a small amount might not kill the chicken, it certainly isn't going to help the wound heal if you apply toxic stuff on it. The plain stuff will speed healing by keeping bad bacteria out and keeping the area moist. Best to keep them in isolation so they don't rub dirt and junk in their wounds while healing over.

I would not put Tea Tree Oil on the bird. I would use the antibiotic cream with no pain killers and then give her some aspirin. 1 aspirin per gallon of water.
