Useless (sorry, it's not meant to suggest their lives are worth less) as excess roos are even in the wild, I just can't believe the sex ratios stay at 50/50. I know some plants and animals have the sex of their offspring affected at conception by things like temperature and light. Is there a way with chickens to increase the likelihood of having hens?
 
My grandmother used to say that spring batch of chicks would be more hens and later batches were more roosters...

something to it? maybe research needs to be done!
 
Maybe if I name all my boys Henry VIII? I'll let you know if I make any major scientific breakthroughs.
