Hello,

I have recently upgraded to an OvaEasy 190 as I was previously struggling with my Brinsea Octagons and getting poor hatch rates. I have just had a hatch in my OvaEasy however still getting poor results. The ducks keep hatching but they're extremely sticky. This gunk gets stuck all over the other eggs and I end up loosing half of them in their shell! Is this because my humidity is too high? What should the humidity be? I keep mine around 45% because I am doing multistage hatching in one incubator which they told me was fine. But I shouldn't be getting all this sticky stuff with such a low humidity??

Thank you very much.

I believe "sticky" chicks are a result of the humidity being too low, plus I've always heard that it should be higher for ducks than for chickens and I think many mist their duck eggs with water occasionally.
