Hi, I've been treating a pullet for the past couple of weeks for Cocci/ Capillary worm infestation. She's been making a slow recovery, but has some vision problems. I researched this and discovered it is from Vitamin A deficiency caused by poor absorption through the digestive tract, usually as a result of Cocci/ Worm infestation. The reference recommended Cod Liver Oil for treatment but cautioned against excessive use as it can be toxic. It said something about 2 per cent Cod Liver Oil, but I'm not sure what that means. Has anyone tried this and how much did you use, or do you know of another way to quickly and safely supplement her Vitamin A intake? She's a 5 month old Lavender Orp.

Please and thanks in advance.

I'll try but she's still on soft diet, not sure she will eat greens raw. Any other thoughts? Something I could mix in her soft food would be best.

The vet book I have says something about giving 20 KIU/kg once, so find a cod liver oil and I'll try to help you figure out a dose.

OK, thank you everybody. I'll look for Cod Liver oil later today when I go out, and I'm not sure I can find Nutradrench locally, I've never seen it here.

The nutradrench probably doesn't ave enough A in it, but it's good to have fr other things.
