Hi

I have a female Cayuga who seems to be avoiding going on the pond and when she is in it her tail is down. She is also fully emerging her beak in the water when eating meal worms off be surface and blowing bubbles underwater out of her nostrils. She just seems generally under the weather.

We have had huge amounts of rain recently and I wonder if she has a cold?!

Any ideas appreciated.

Many thanks.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but I would recommend posting on our Duck section in Other Backyard Poultry under the Forum at the top of the page and taking advantage of our Duck experts there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

I don't have duck experience yet, but the duck forum is probably the best place as Michael O'Shay said. Here's a link to get you there:

Good luck to you & your duck!
