Hello a couple of days ago it seemed one of my silkies was a bit vacant and not eating in her usual way. I put some meal works in earlier today and she didn’t seem to notice them. Usually she clucks away.
It was very cold yesterday. This evening I noticed she was sitting in the straw in the outside run. Her sister had gone in to roost.
I picked her up and she was extremely thin and twisting her head round repeatedly. I looked it up this eve and thought it might be wry neck. I just brought her in. She was outside the coop and not able to roost.
I just tried feeding her some scrambled egg with mushed apple and crushed sunflower seeds but she’s not interested. Is that because it’s after dark and she would be sleepy and not wanting food or is she in big trouble?
I have put her in a large cage inside. Should I bring her sister in too? It’s very cold tonight..
Please, any advice and reassurance would be very welcome! I was only on here last month worry about her osier who was limping. She just SO thin bless her. She usually really heavy and chunky. I could not tell how thin she was because of her feathers.
Many thanks.
