Pop Door for heavy girls...

I was wondering the size heavy girls will need for a pop door. I was thinking 16" - 18" high and 12" - 14" wide what are your opinions on size for my girls to go in and out of?

Mine is 12" wide and 17" tall. I got those dimensions from somewhere on this forum. I am sure the biggest chicken could get through easily. Actually it was supposed to be 18" tall but I goofed somehow. Still looks plenty big enough.

I use an approx. 12 in. x 12 in. opening. Fits all the birds just right, even the, er, fluffier ones!

Mine is 12 X 12 and even my large rooster fits in and out of it just fine. You don't want to make it to big just incase your girls need to run into the coop for safety. I realize that a smaller animal could still make it through that opening but a large one couldn't. Just my thoughts anyways.

Thanks tons for the advice. I think I am going to go with a 14 x 14...just for the Brahma and Cochins...they have some rather large fluffy butts.

I made mine 14" x 14"
