pop door size

I am building a coup and need to know how tall I should make the door. Estimating that the width is 12"

Mine is 11" and my hens fit through it fine.

Thanks for your reply...I was thinking that somewhere in the range of 12-15" should be plenty. I have RIRs with one being a rooster. They aren't fully grown yet or I would make them backup to the door facing as our mom had us do.

I used a opening of a 1x10 , so actully 9 1/2 inches its 16 inches tall, my buckeye roo, and barred rock roo have no problems getting through it, In fact I have heritage breed turkeys (hens) that also fit through it.
