My Coop
Hello all,
I have a question, I have been opening a pop door on the gate of my chicken run so the chickens (large breeds) can go out in the pasture (free range) along with the goats and ponys.
Recently we added two 9 week old goats (Nigerian dwarfs) to the herd. Well the little ones go right through the pop door into the chicken run and coop. I made the door smaller, but the littles get in, my question is, what or how can I eliminate this issue?
I dont like keeping the chickens confined, and I dont want the goats in their area,
Any ideas?
Thank you

Maybe put a corner inside of the door, I don’t know a lot about Nigerian dwarf goats but can they turn sharp corners like a chicken could? Like put a wall less than a foot in the door so the chicken will turn one way or another but the goat just hits the wall? Maybe? Just throwing some ideas out there.

That is the only possible solution I can think of.

But, you might also have to keep one or the other locked up until the goats are a bit bigger.

Have seen this tried, often with 2 sharp turns, but nigerians are really small and outwitted them. Space would have to be really tight.

Thank you for all the ideas,
I have tried making a tunnel that the chicken would have to go through and turn to get out the door, but that little bugger got right in there .I have made the opening smaller so the goat couldnt get in, but the chickens couldn't get out either, lol
