You can remove Marans and Welsummers, and add RIR's and EE's. Marans and Welsummers get a lot of chatter, and are very "trendy" at the moment, but in reality only represent a very small number in relation to the masses of chickens being raised in the US today.

RIRs and EE's ("Ameraucanas") are very popular. So are OEGBs.

Most everyone here gets the RIR or Barred Rocks because that is what the feed store usually gets. Maybe leghorns as well.

For me the best breed is giant cochins, but it seems this year Polish are a favorite. When I first got mine noone had any now everyone seems to be adding them to their flocks.

Barred Rocks are , I think, the most common chicken in the US. According to a few different University studies- cochins are still on "watch"....Well I'm "watching" mine turn into big fluff balls- my favorite breed so far.
