I am looking into getting two porcelain silkie hens from a friend. I was thinking about breeding them with my blue/lav silkie rooster. What are the porcelain genetics?

you would get all solid color lavender. if you crossed a lavender to them
or BBS if you cross a blue them.

No, the porcelain hen would provide porcelain colouring to many of the offspring if bred to lavender. Depending on whether the lavender carries gold, silver or golden, that could modify the outcome. If the cock is split for lav, then only half the offspring will receive lav and be possible porcelains. However, the blue will also be inherited by some and might cause some of the blue & buff coloured offspring to be mistaken for porcelain. Porcelain requires two copies of lav.

So, the answer is that there are a lot of variables that will affect the outcome. Try playing with the variations on the chicken calculator,

So basically, breed it to a lavender to get true porcelain. I will have to wait to get my lavender from my blue/lav roo.

I got a porcelain from lavender over porcelain. She hatched out lavender, but the isabel started to grow in within a few days.

Atypical because she carries a pattern, but here's the mom:

and here's the baby, by a black split to lav:

the other Silkie is a full sibling. I've noticed that the beige chick is getting a pattern in her wings as well.
