I just candled before lockdown. I put the eggs in little "seats" so the chicks wouldn't roll the other eggs. I had one die that way last time. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone candles, then places the eggs with the air pocket up for lockdown? I've never thought of it. Anyone?

I candle at lockdown for space and to avoid possible blowups. I just lay them on their side.

I have actually set eggs upside down in the incubator in cartons to hatch and forgot to lockdown them and they still seem to hatch.

Personally I do not think it matters.
