Hi everyone, I am new to this thread but wondering if anyone could help,

I am incubating my first 6 eggs, today is day7 and I have candled them, some eggs were clearer than others, they all were fertile as veins have started but I couldn’t see an embryo, on the whole the eggs were very dark and I couldn’t see much (not like photos I have seen online) and mine are blue eggs so I was expecting for them to be clearer

One of the eggs does have a ring right above the air sac and I am wondering if it’s a blood ring
Can I have options on what people think

many thanks

Best to wait and candle again day 12 or 14. By then you will know for sure.

Ive thrown out perfectly good developing chicks thinking it was a blood ring early on.

Thank you for the reply’s, I will check again in a few days, and thank you for sharing the link, that’s an interesting thread :)

Do you have at least one, separately purchased thermometer, that you can calibrate in your bator?

I would get a thermometer and calibrate it and I would get a humidity gauge and salt test it before you set more eggs.

But I don't think it looks too good for being a week old either.

Do you have a brighter flashlight?
