Possible breeding program

He's going away regardless. Just a matter of timing. If I keep the BYM (still deciding) I'll get rid of the black. But if one of the new roos pans out, they'll both be gone. I just don't need 4 roos (and minimum another 6 coming up) for 15 girls, so someone has to go.

The question isn't appearance, it's behavior.

Currently the BYM has the better behavior, and he has the pea comb, but the other has the bloodline. The BYM is also beta, and he's several weeks younger so his behavior might change considerably in the next month.

The senior roo is keeping the girls safe from both of them. :lau

I had intended to keep two or three unrelated flocks, but under my conditions that proved unsupportable

These are the two birds in question.

1st, the BYM. His mother was an easter egger, his father also BYM but with a deep and wide breast, heavy legs, and very well behaved. Currently 22 weeks old, I believe. I wouldn't mind having him around, even if for just a short time. Smaller than I would like, but he has the pea comb.

2nd is from my group, I think 24 weeks. This is pretty standard coloring for the boys that come in black. He's larger than the BYM but has a standard comb, which I am working to eliminate.
