Hello everyone,
I have been noticing some diarrhea on the poop boards in the morning. I have 24 hens out there, and 10 more two day old chicks in the garage. I plan on starting corid in their water.
The chickens have a large enclosed run ( 25 x 50 ) how do you all clean up the run to remove the possibility of coccidia.
Would rototillering it in help, or should I just treat the water and let the run be?
They also free range
Thank you

Is the run dry? I have a covered run with a thick layer of wood chips for run litter. It does not get wet and muddy. If your run is not covered, the thick layer of wood chips is still a great choice for run litter. Where I live, I can get it for free from the municipalities that collect curbside branches then run them through a chipper.

I would get a fecal float done and check for worm load on the flock. There are lots of reasons why a hen can get diarrhea.

The run is not covered, I am going to take a fecal sample to the vet
Thanks you
