Possible feed issue??

Though corn may not raise the temperature, it is high in calories. Thus helping to replace burned calories to stay warm in winter.
It's not that simple when it comes to chickens, first chicken eat to fill a caloric need and once that need is met they stop eating also the calories that are in corn are burned off fast so they need to keep eating. Now if you simply feed there regular feed it will do the same thing but last longer.

That's why it's not suggested to feed a lot of corn. It may be more "digestible" than other grains, but it does not meet nutritional requirements.
No one grain by it's self meets nutritional requirements but corn in combination with soybean and a mineral, trace mineral/salt mix will come very close.
