This is my first time seeing my hens comb look like this and I’m thinking it may be frostbite. Before I bring her inside and start caring for her does anyone know if this is actually frost bite? Or is it just dry skin? From a fight?

I don’t see any frostbite. Dry flaky wintery skin maybe, and the rear part could have some healing injury from fencing or pecking. Has she taken a break from laying? Coconut oil is good to rub into the comb.
Thank you!! I wasn’t sure if the rear part was dry skin or if it was a mild case of frostbite. She hasn’t taken a break from laying, lays every day and has been for the last 2 years. Every once in a while she will miss a day but hasn’t missed more than 5 days in the last year. If I put coconut oil on it will it freeze or cause injury overnight when it drops below 0? She doesn’t seem to mind me touching it although it does feel hard

Yes, if it is getting that cold, most anything you put on it could freeze. I would leave it alone.
Would you be able to offer any tips to know when it is a mild case of frostbite? Is it just solid white and not flakey? Will it feel hard? I’m just curious as I am expecting harsh weather at the end of this week. The photos I’ve found online are worst cases where it is black or infected.
