Possible heart failure

B complex just goes right through their system if they don't need it. You can't overdose is my understanding. I'd take a human pill B complex 50 or B complex 100 and smash it up and put it in their water. Or you could mix it with raw egg or probiotic yogurt and feed it directly to her in whatever she will happily eat. [For grown chickens you'd pop half a pill or a whole pill in their beaks and have them swallow, but this is a baby. ]

Nutridrench is good.

I think Rooster Booster also is a source of B vitamins, but wouldn't want to over do it on the other ingredients in there.

B vitamins (maybe niacin?) are good for nervous system issues such as curled toe paralysis, which can mimic Merek's disease. Unsteadiness on feet sounds like something nervous system related (I've no idea what), so I figure B vitamins can't hurt, and might be helpful. Note - for curled toe paralysis, they require B vitamin treatment for 4-6 weeks at minimum before seeing improvement. So good effects may take time to be noticed.

Great info, thank you. I will give it a try!

So I cannot figure out how to upload a video.
I did want to update that she seems to have more energy today with everything added.
Crop is still giant. She was attempting to jump/fly which is about 4 days behind the others. Her tail feathers are also just barely coming out, as the others have 1/4 an inch of apparent feathers.
Just praying for this bird. Hopefully she can pull out of it. She keeps making improvements hopefully she just doesn’t slip back again.

I have a 2 week old chick who I suspected had an impacted crop.
She was lethargic, had a HUGE bulging crop, didn’t want to sit down would just stand up with her eyes closed. She was unsteady on her feet, not preening. First noticed this on Wednesday,

Her crop wasn’t empty at night, but it was considerably smaller, just a little lump there for the next 3 mornings.

She seems to have gotten worse today. Crop area swollen again, and she’s super unsteady on her feet, haven’t seen her preening.. Not real lethargic, but not as active as the rest.. Not growing as quick as everyone else, but not super behind. Her feet are tiny.

They are all on cluck co starter pellets, which is why I am soaking the food before feeding.

Her body seems to be swelling.

I don’t feel a lot of fluid but I think she may have some buildup on her underside.

This morning her crop was COMPLETELY EMPTY! She was running around just like everyone else. now it’s an hour later and she looks super swollen again.

I can’t seem to upload a video. I will keep trying. Darn technology.
Welcome To BYC

For Video, upload to Youtube and provide a link or use the BYC GALLERY and tell us to look there. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/how-to-upload-videos-to-the-gallery.1631126/

Crop emptying is good. Providing chick grit is very good, the feed you have is not a crumble from what I can tell, so having grit is important.

You mention she looks to be super swollen. Where? The crop or her Body? You mention her underside?
Does it feel like Air or Fluid? If fluid feeling, unfortunately, that's not a good sign. IF Air, then ruptured Air Sac is possible, so this can be addressed and usually chicks recover just fine.

If you can answer the questions and also get a video, that would be helpful - I'm just giving suggestions based on what I'm gathering from your description, so I may think or see something else in a video.

Below is more info about ruptured air sacs. Chicks do not always show respiratory distress and the air can sometimes release on it's own, then build back up, so it's possible this could wax/wane over the course of a few days. Keep in mind that there are 9 air sacs, so air can be trapped near those sacs from rump to neck depending on where its ruptured.

Just my thoughts.
