I have a pullet who is very close to or may have started laying already. She is squatting and has been for a couple of weeks. They free range from 7:45 to about 4:45 or 5 depending on when I get home. I was wondering, since they free range all the time, should I leave them in the coop for a day? just to make sure she isn't hiding eggs somewhere else? And if she does happen to be laying eggs somewhere else, should I keep her in until she lays in the nest box, or will that come to her eventually? Thanks.

    Hi!

I was in the same boat, but I found a random egg near my tap last week. I kept the girls penned all day the next day and penned until noon for three days after that. They seem to have the idea now!

    Good luck!
