Hello all!
We recently picked up a few birds from TSC to appease our hen that has been broody all summer (another story). She’s taken them in without batting an eye but we are wondering about a possible ID for one of the chicks.
This one was labeled as an Americana/Easter Egger but the trough also had Mystic Marans in it. The thing that gives us pause is that the chick in question has yellow, feathered legs (you can see feathers developing on its legs) and is noticeably bigger than the other chicks (all about the same age per feathers and the staff at TSC as they all came in the same batch). While I know it’s probably a long shot for a positive ID, especially since I wasn’t able to get good pictures, we were wondering about what this little one might be. Any ideas would be appreciated!
