Hello all. First time I have posted. Avid reader of the forum. It seems I may possibly have an issue.

My flock consisted of 2 black australorps (around a year), 2 silver laced wyandottes, 2 buff orpingtons, 2 White Rocks, 1 RIR, and 1 Silver Laced Wyan Rooster.

Last Thursday I lost one of the black australorps. This was slightly expected. They both had a little issue with soft eggs when they first started laying. I found her in the nesting box with a soft egg partially laid.

I then went out of town Friday and had a neighbor check up on the girls and mister. In the afternoon he found a White Rock in the run that had passed. No apparent causes.

I ended up getting home late yesterday, and there were only 3 eggs that had been laid.

I keep a close eye on the girls. They have all seemed healthy and happy with no apparent problems. They are all of different ages with the oldest being 2 and youngest a year.

I have had excellent egg production. Prior to the 2 deaths I was getting 6-7 eggs daily.

Just beginning to get a little worried with all of this happening at once. I feel like the deaths are of separate causes, and just a coincidence.

Any words of wisdom?

The Australorp couldve been egg impacted, not sure about the White Rock though...not enough info to go on.
I recommend that you inspect your birds for external parasites. You might consider worming them as well.
