Possible lash egg. What should I do?

I noticed an odd looking mass in the nesting box today. I think it might be a last egg. I don’t know which of my chicken layed it. Can someone tell me if that’s what this is and if so what I need to do. The outside was tough and kind of leathery. The inside was the color and texture of lunch meat. No noticeable smell.

It is a lash egg. It may be a one time deal or it may be the indicator that a bird is developing more serious reproductive tract problems. Only time will tell what you are dealing with. Good luck.
