To start out I have 7 hens, they are a year old this year:
3 Buff Orpingtons
3 Silver Laced Wyandottes
1 Golden Laced Wyandottes

I also have 5 chicks:
2 Salmon Favorelles (2 months old- pure bred)
3 Easter Eggers (1 week- 3week age range; 2 of them are blackish grey with the dark black looking legs, 1 is yellow with yellow legs)

I would like to start raising chicks to sell and maybe start selling hatching eggs. I want to have a desirable product tho. Yesterday I came across an older chick that is believed to be a rooster, he is an Olive Egger- he came out of an olive egg (Americana x Cream legbar) and he is blackish with black looking legs, no feathers on feet. I bought him.

What will these crosses produce? (Name, egg color, looks???) I only want one rooster at a time so is this a bad idea? I would like colored eggs but I don’t want to be creating something that no one wants when it hatches, lol.

Since an Olive Egger is already a hybrid mix, the resulting chicks will be barnyard mixes. I wouldn’t worry about nobody wanting them - they will still be super cute little chickens that lay eggs. I believe you will get brown eggs out of them, but I’m not an expert at this.

Most people want chickens for eggs and entertainment. You can still sell barnyard mixes.
I have sold many. If they lay eggs at a decent rate people will still want them.

In my area, it doesn’t matter what the egg colors are that the hens will lay.
Did you purchase the Easter Egger chicks as pullets or straight runs?

Well, the girl sexed them the best she could (looking at vent) but honestly I am just hoping they turn out to be hens lol. So to answer your question: straight run.
