Waiotira.
I have a black hen that came from a flock of mixed breed hens and a Purebred Orpington rooster, she looks a lot like him so I was wondering if she might be part orpington.
Can anyone help?

Yea, sorry didn't mention it in the start but she has some little white feathers around her neck and a few scattered through he feathers.
What colored hens were in the flock?
I have a flock made up of multiple mixed hens, and genetics can be hard to pin unless you know specifics.
No there were no other black chooks.
Then I wouldn’t doubt that she has the B. Orpington in her.

Of course! But keep in mind, my guess is as good as the next members, but I am determined to help in any small way I can.😊

I have had many different black breeds of chickens, taking Australorps for example. Most purebred black chickens, (unless their breed is supposed to have white), won’t have white.
