Possible pheasant?

I always thought they were only birds from the tropics, but after a quick search, I didn't know the range of chachalacas reached the U.S. Interesting.

I have several pair of Inca doves in my yard...did. of see them until the late 90's, but have several pairs nesting in my garden.

@ tony yeah theres some acreage behind my house and theres were all the birds and animals roam. Its like a jungle and has been so since before 1950s

I was planning on keeping the Inca dove since I currently have doves in the cage but I didn't know if he'd survive since it was wild . But at least I got to hold him

I just took a walk behind my parents camp and almost stepped on a partridge.Scared the crap out of me,I looked down at where she flew from, and she has 4 eggs in a nest right on the walking trail.I hope nothing gets her or her chicks if they hatch.I've seen a lot more of them in the last 3 years of hunting in these woods and hope there are many more that survive.

No I don't want her to notice something different and leave them.I just went up there for the day to open up the camp and decided to take a walk out back to see if there was any wildlife around.I must of just miss stepping on her on the way in,and on the way out she took of scaring the crap out of me.Hopefully she will return and all will be good and she will help stock the woods with lots of chicks in the future. In the past few years there have been lots of rabbits and partridge in that area that weren't there before.Maybe progress has pushed them there.Hopefully because that piece of land can not be developed and they will have a home for a lot of years to come. Now if the deer would show up around Nov,there will be a full freezer.
