Possible prolapse?

Hello!

One of my hens (around 1 year old) has what I believe is possibly a prolapse. I’ve tried soaking her in an Epsom salt bath, gently tried pushing it back in and have separated her from the rest of the flock. She doesn’t seem in distress or pain but I imagine it is possibly painful by the way it looks. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to help her?

Can you post a picture of her vent? Has she been able to poop? Try giving her a dose of calcium citrate with vitamin D, (or other calcium or Tums.) That can increase muscle contraction. Does it feel like she is trying to pass an egg? Keep her vent clean, soak her daily if needed, and keep her prolapse from drying out with honey, vaseline, hydrocortisone cream until it can be pushed inside to stay. Keep her separated from others who would peck her prolapse. Here is a good article to read:
