I have recently obtained a female golden phesant from a breeder. She is about 4-6 months old and is making slight high-pitched wheezing gasp like sounds as well as sneezing and what seems to be a slight gurgle occasionally.

Those are the only symptoms I have noticed so far. She has no other physical abnormalities that I know of, however this is my first time with large birds. My previous experience is my English budgie so this is a big leap.

Some extra info: My pheasant is housed with a same aged India blue pied peacock. He seems normal other than a tendency to eat poo.

Sounds like she my have gape worm.Pheasants need to be wormed 2 times per year.I use Ivemec to worm mine. After you worm them, they need to be wormed again 10 days later to kill the cycle.Peafowl can also be wormed with ivemec.
In N.H.,Tony.

I was fearing that.... Where can I get ivemec? Also, what is the risk of it spreading to my other birds?
