I'm new to raising chickens, like I got my first ones a week ago and they are about 3 weeks old. I've spent a ton of time online to try and get a decent handle on when I'm doing but one thing I wasn't prepared for was one getting sick. It's a rhode island red and has been acting strange. Falling asleep standing up and is often knocked over by the others and trampled but when I touch her she jumps up and runs around only to fall asleep again a few moments later and do it again. I also noticed she is a little bit smaller than the others but not too noticable unless your really looking. I have them in a brooder and the others are doing great so I don't know why this one is having problems. Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated thank you.

Pictures are always helpful. Check her out.... pasty butt is a real issue for me at this age. Sometimes you have to prepare yourself for the reality of a failure to thrive.....

Her butt is clean which was my first thought after reading up some of common illnesses for this age. She is eating and drinking without problems and even goes nuts like the rest when I drop in treats but she seems so much weaker than the others and I have to feed her separate or she gets bullied out of the way. In the 2nd picture is her shoved in the corner with a wet back due to a mishap with the water.

If she appears thin compared to her mates, then she might be in need of a food boost.... scrambled eggs slightly warm will usually give any lethargic chick a boost. If he/she is ill this can't hurt either. Good luck. Eyes closed on the pics..... usually a chick would be wide eyed when held unless exhausted.

I've been giving that one more boiled eggs than the others which it seems to really like. As far as the eyes i didn't realize the flash was on and she didn't like it. She does chill when I hold her and isn't keeping them closed but she is far from wide eyed. Thank you so much for your help it's greatly appreciated. My real concern about getting chickens is I love animals and don't want to lose any of then. This is why my husband said said not to name them which is killing me since I name everything.
