Possible splash maran?

I got this chick with 2 other blue copper marans. They are around 5 weeks old now. The guy I got them from said he thought it was a maran and easter egger cross. I decided to do a little internet searching but now I think it's actually a splash maran. And if anyone had any guesses to if it's a roo or not? I'm thinking roo as the comb is bigger and pink while the 2 other marans I have don't have much for combs or wattles. Thanks!

He does indeed look like a splash marans. However, foot feathering tends to be a dominant trait, so he could still be an Easter Egger cross. It looks like a cockerel to me, but many Marans hens also get very large combs. If his comb is much bigger (or redder), when compared to your others, most likely a cockerel. It also looks like he is developing spurs on the inside of his legs? If so, almost definitely a cockerel.

I guess I haven't paid much attention to possible spur growth. But he definitely has more feather growth on his legs and feet then the other 2. I'll get some more pictures and upload them tomorrow. And I'll get some pictures of the other 2 as well. Ones is grey and the other one is black.

Too young for spur growth. Also pullets will grow spurs to sometimes.

Spurs don't tell much as many don't grow in for up to a year. I would say that is indeed a male Splash Marans.

Here is comb and leg pictures of all of my copper marans. Chica (the white one which i guess we will have to rename) has always had more feathering, even at a few days old. I'm also thinking of starting to take those three out to the coop to start introducing them to my other pullets that are 7 weeks old now. I'll put them into a giant wire kennel in the run. Just not sure how mamy days I should do that for as I've never had chicks at different ages before.

They all look to be marans. Black is definitely a pullet, blue is iffy but probably a pullet as well
