I will not pull my chickens neck no matter what. I live in the uk, right now it is 7.30 pm, the vets here would laugh at me if i took a chicken, when i take my chickens to the vets i have to tell them what i think is the matter as there is no bird specialists about. It is nature for animals to die this way or it would not happen! People die when they have to and we cannot 'put people to sleep'. It is the way life goes, I have made the chicken as comfortable as i can, spent the day with her encouraging her to eat and drink. i dont understand what you mean "a human friend" , it is a chicken and an animal, and yes a pet, therefore i will not kill her myself. You dont have a dog and kill a dog with your own hands. If it ends up that she dies overnight then she dies, if she survives she survives, I appreciate what you are saying but the way you have sent that message is very rude. Everyone cares about their chickens on this site and i do too, but i have done all i can and cannot get to the vet until monday as they are not open, only for emergencies. They will not class a chicken as an emergency. If it was a weekday the issue would be different. I live in the country and on a farm without any neighbours about. And i have owned chickens for 2 years now so have had many chickens die on me, many of them being put down by the vet, i have anti biotics and eye drops for when they get sick and any remedy going from the feed store so to say that i am not a responsible owner is pathetic. I think you need to keep your opinions to yourself pastryman
